About Us

Welcome

Welcome to Woodbridge Islamic School

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

As-Salaam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

It is my honor to welcome our families, students, staff, and community to the Woodbridge Islamic School (WIS) website.

At WIS, our mission is to nurture knowledgeable, principled, and compassionate young Muslims through rigorous academics and character development rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, preparing them to serve their families, communities, and society with excellence. True success is built on faith, partnership, and the collective effort of families, educators, and students shaping the whole child — mind, body, and soul.

As Principal, I am committed to ensuring every child receives the tools to succeed in this life and the Hereafter. In our safe, faith-centered environment, students grow in strong Islamic character alongside academic achievement, guided by dedicated teachers who combine time-tested instruction with thoughtful use of modern tools.

Our goals at WIS are clear:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing environment that fosters the spiritual, social, and intellectual growth of every student.
  • Deliver a rigorous curriculum aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs), enriched with Qur’an, Arabic, and Islamic Studies.
  • Prepare students to be confident lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and principled Muslims ready to serve their communities.

A Philosophy Rooted in Our Core Values

I believe education is a sacred trust (amanah) and the pursuit of knowledge (ilm) is a lifelong act of worship. Students thrive in structured, teacher-led classrooms with clear expectations and strong foundations in reading, writing, speaking, and thinking.

In a world increasingly shaped by screens, we emphasize learning that does not depend on technology. Through close reading, thoughtful writing, oral expression, and meaningful human interaction, students develop focus, discipline, and the depth of true wisdom (hikmah).

Joy, excellence, and community matter. Through healthy competition in speech, writing, spelling, poetry, Qur’an, and academics, students strive for excellence while practicing humility and good character (adab). Our clubs, events, and shared experiences strengthen community bonds and inspire students to use their gifts in service of others (khidmah).

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“When a human being dies, all of his deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”  — Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 163

It is our honor to walk alongside you in raising those righteous children, inshaAllah.

My door is always open. May Allah (SWT) bless our efforts, protect our children, and keep us steadfast on the straight path. Ameen.
