Admissions Application Process

Read Before You Begin the Application Process

Please take time to read the instructions carefully before you start filling out the online application for each child.

Admissions Process

Step 1: Complete the Online Application 

Visit https://wischools.org/ and complete the application form.  

Step 2: Submit Required Documents with the Application 

In order for your application to be considered, all required documents listed below must be submitted at the time of application submission.  

  • Certified Birth Certificate: You must upload your student’s original birth certificate or a certified copy. A photocopy is not acceptable. Certified birth certificates are available through the Department of Public Health or Vital Records Office where the student was born. For students born in Virginia, visit the Virginia Department of Health Office of Vital Records for assistance.  
  • Proof of Required Immunizations  
  • List of Medications  
  • Negative Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Results: Required for students who have been outside the United States or U.S. territories for three or more consecutive months within the last five years. Learn more about TB screening.  
  • Transcript from previous school  
  • State Test Results (e.g., SOLs)  

Step 3: Schedule an Interview and Placement Test 

Once your application and documents are submitted, the school office will contact you to schedule a placement test and an interview with the principal, both of which are required to complete the application process.  

What Happens Next?

After completing these steps, your child’s application will be reviewed, and a decision will be made to either accept or decline the application. You will receive an email notifying you of the decision, along with the next steps to complete enrollment if your child is accepted.  

Upon completing all the checklist items, your WIS decision letter and contract will be sent electronically.
